Target age

We deiced that our target age should be 21-25 this is because of the conventions that are used and how they are presented to the audience.
We have a complex narrative and this is why we have put the target age at a higher level so that an audience may comprehend it properly.
There are sections with slow motion this adheres to an audience that is aged between 21 and 25 because it is interesting and fun but at the same time not too childish.
The bright and vibrant colors in the paint will be used in order to adhere to the conventions of an young audience.
There are scenes with dancing and this would adhere to the wants and needs of an audience of this age.
We also decided that it would be wise to also adhere to a male target audience so we are using a young attractive girl that will be visually satisfying for men to watch.

Planning for the multi camera set up.

We would be shooting on the Ursa Mini from BlackMagic design this camera does not have a HDMI out only a SDI out which is intended for the use of live broadcasting in full uncompressed glory, but the issue with this is that over 99.99% do not contain such a input this provides a issue.

Luckily a work around is available, but it is not cheap or convenient. This converter can directly convert a SDI signal to a HDMI one.
With extra conversions come extra fire risks as heat is being generated, so a person with a extinguisher would have to be on set.

I have checked with the media department and they only have one of these converters so a alternative source would be required. I have researched online and found that there is a website who is leasing them out for a affordable price.

With the use of HDMI comes yet another problem, the televisions would have to have a HDMI input, most televisions that utilize a HDMI connection are fairly modern so we have two options: use another (further delaying the signal), or using actual HDMI capable televisions. We have decided to minimize risk we would use actual HDMI televisions, such as the cheap ones that are available to rent to the left.

Feedback to pitch

We pitched our idea to Luke through the use of a keynote presentation and this allowed us to collect feedback from someone that knows his stuff. We found out what was realistic and what was unachievable.

We were recommended to shoot the whole video live with the tvs to improve continuity and to speed up the editing process. On first thought I believed that this was crazy but it was actually really a great idea because it would speed the whole process and make a live preview instantly available. If we were to shoot it conventionally then it would use a lot of data, and would be very hard to achieve perfect continuity in post.

Instead of using real people to convey her anxiety it would be easier and more effective to use a direct projection onto the subject, and this could be stronger and more powerful.

We should consider the use of the subject sitting  in a corner of a room to show isolation and separation.

Bullying is a serious social issue and it is wise not to explore this though video as it can often give off unwanted connotations that can make the video heavily questionable.

When paint is thrown at a person they will naturally squint and this would ruin the aesthetics of the video, so the use of sofware such as Adobe After affects would be able to remove this and to keep the eyes open in order to provide continuity and and structure.

Paint is messy and it is hard to find the right consistency of paint in order to give the right effect. Proper covering of all surfaces is essential in order to allow for a easy and quick clean up. Experimentation with different types of paint would be required to find out the effects of using it. Some types of paint can cause allergic reactions so it would be important to ensure that it is non allergenic and to do a test prior to shooting.

Phantom cameras are hard to work with, cost a lot, and are prone to easy damage through misuse. If we were to shoot with such a camera then one of us would have to get the necessary training.

The idea is complex enough and it would be more effective to keep the costumes simple and stick to basic colours.

Televisions are made up of three colors Red Green And Blue or RGB as a abbreviation. It would be wise to work with these colors to interlink the three elements together perhaps though the use of different colored paints.

Because the idea is so complex it is really fundamental to ensure that every last detail is planned before hand so that nothing is left to guesswork, because fundamentally every single element will fail if not planned before.

Research into the methods and techniques is really important as it will reflect in the final product and will be necessary in order to deliver a industry standard media product.

The layout of the cameras for the live shooting is really important, also it is needed to organize a team for shooting this as it will require several camera men.

We were also told that you should never over estimate the power of paint as you will always need more than expected.

Overall from the feedback I can gather that a lot of research and preparation will be required for this shoot, but if it is executed properly it could be a very effective media product.
