Song: Catch and Release
Artist: Matt Simons
The artist is synthetic and a audience can easily distinguish this because in all of his promoting materials there is a image of himself, and also in his music videos he features himself in all of them and they are very much narrative lead instead of featuring a band. Although the fonts used and the connotations of the album name ‘Catch and Release’ suggest that the artist may be organic.
Matt Simons has the reputation of being very unique and true.
I personally like the artist because of the slow and meaningful lyrics that are generally really impactful and acoustically nice to listen to.

Video:
To be in keeping with the artists synthetic star image the music video would ideally be narrative based about a young boy who is running though the woods (in slow motion) and then gets to the beach and meets his friends who are running around and building sandcastles and digging holes and other conventions of a child on a beach, it would not need to be sunny or particularly warm.
There would be some reference to the artist perhaps a cut away to a single singer without a band, to help reinforce the artist star image.
The children would not be accompanied by a adult and would be made to look independent so props like bicycles and beach towels may be used to reinforce to the audience that the children are independent and to allow the audience to empathise and connect with the children without feeling as if they are looking at a group of immature children.
The children would be wearing costumes featuring trousers and t-shirts with sensible colours and limited branding.
